Academic Search Engines
  • ​Google Scholar - From one place you have the ability to hunt for peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts and articles from academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories, universities and other scholarly organizations.
  • Google Books - A database of millions of books, many of which can be previewed. Google Books is also useful for previewing books, especially for reviewing the table of contents.
  • Microsoft Academic - The search engine pulls content from over 120 million publications, including scientific papers, conferences and journals.
  • WorldWideScience - This search engine is operated by the Office of Scientific and Technical Information and utilizes databases from over 70 countries and will display both English and translated results from related journals and academic resources.
